It's Christmas at Galleria Dallas!

The holiday season always sneaks up on me, but seeing the giant Christmas tree at the Galleria Dallas always puts me in the spirit of the season.  They've really gone all out for the holidays this year.  Here are just a few highlights of the Christmas season at the Galleria Dallas:
  • Christmas tree - It's the tallest indoor tree in the country AND more skaters visit the Galleria's tree than the one in Rockefeller Center in NYC!
  • Snow Globe - Tag #GalleriaHoliday when you post your snow globe pic on social media.
  • Ice skating - You won't see me on the ice but if you like skating, it's a must-do activity when you visit the Galleria.  I'm very clumsy so I'll stick to what I do best... shopping!
  • The newly expanded ZARA store.  Enough said!
Merry Christmas and Happy Shopping!

Aftershock London Brings British Style to Galleria Dallas

The Brits switched up its Aftershock London store location when the boutique was reintroduced at the Galleria Dallas earlier this year.  The British boutique has been successful in Dallas for almost two years, which is the only city in the United States to get the Aftershock London experience with a physical store location.  Imran Sheikh, managing partner for the US division, expressed his excitement for the new Aftershock London store at the Galleria.  Bringing the British-based retailer to a shopping center of 200 retailers and a lot of foot traffic is expected to increase its accessibility and visibility in Dallas.  Aftershock London was first introduced to Dallas when its grand opening in 2013 at the Plaza at Preston Center.

Stylist Dawn Mellon and The Fashionistas organization hosted the grand opening party with plenty of shopping and fun.  The display windows were occupied by live model-mannequins showing off some of Aftershock's most glam looks.  Partygoers enjoyed shopping, mingling and cocktails.  For unique eveningwear and accessible daytime glam, go to Aftershock London.

PS - Dawn is one of the 12 women chosen to participate in Fashion Stars for a Cause this year.  She is raising money to benefit the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas.  If you're interested in purchasing a ticket to the event on March 20 or raffle tickets to win a royal dinner and a Belk gift card, please contact her!

ShopSeptember Has You Covered This Fall!

ShopSeptember in Snider Plaza was recently re-stocked with fall merchandise that will make you want the cold weather to come even quicker.  Owner Laura Petter took me on a fall fashion tour after unpacking gorgeous new items.  If you've shopped with ShopSeptember before, you're probably familiar with the "Street" and "Showroom" concept.  Fashion from the runway comes alive in The Street.  Exclusive designer labels can be found in The Showroom.

Some of the highlights of this fall for ShopSeptember include fur (faux and real), slick jackets, and cozy sweaters.  If you're not in the market for an entire new fall wardrobe, ShopSeptember has a variety of key pieces and accessories to complete your look.  One of Laura's favorite shoe lines is called Melissa.  They're known for being fashionable and super-comfortable.  Apparently, they even form to the shape of your foot for optimal support.

ShopSeptember is located in Snider Plaza and online, so check it out!

Fall Fashion 2014: Wear Now AND Later!

Lately, wardrobe versatility has been on my mind when I shop.  My main concern: Is this item worth the investment so I can wear it across seasons?  Now's the time to phase out of summer and start falling for fashions that be worn now through the fall and winter.  Prices on Nordstrom Anniversary Sale merchandise are going up on August 4.  The Anniversary pieces shown below are Small 4 Style's top versatile picks.  Hover over the photo and click on the item you'd like to learn more about.  Happy shopping!

Douleur at SMU Re-Opens!

Everyone's favorite campus boutique Douleur has re-opened after a remodel.  The renovation caused the store to be closed for a few months, but it was definitely worth the wait.  Douleur owner Giselle Ruggeberg has added even more irresistible clothes, jewelry, dorm decorations, and SMU merch.  If you're in Dallas for the summer, Douleur is already open for the shopping-obsessed.  When school starts in August, stop by Hughes Trigg for some much-needed retail therapy after class.  Excited to see what Giselle has in store this season!

Look Du Jour: Sweet Dreams, Sweetie!

Now more than ever, I've realized the importance of a good night's sleep.  Better sleep results in less stress and enhanced beauty - an even better reason to look fashionable and take advantage of overnight beauty products while you snooze.  I suggest adding a strand of pearls for a touch of fanciness.  So put on your eye mask and have sweet dreams.

Prepster Paradise: Belk Galleria Dallas Opening Gala

Glitzy and Glam: Stephanie Koh, Holly Quartaro, Alex Small, Steve Kemble
Celebrating the grand opening of Belk with some of the most influential people in Dallas, and fashion friends, was an affair to remember.  The North Carolina-based company revealed its massive flagship store at the Galleria Dallas earlier this spring after much anticipation from the Dallas community.  Belk and Galleria Dallas pulled out all the stops to welcome guests with some Southern [and glamorous] hospitality at the Opening Gala on April 3.  Tickets were $50 and all proceeds went to Susan G. Komen, one of the charities that Belk supports.
Belk was the place for star sightings that night.  Actress and Belk brand ambassador Hayden Panettiere opened the runway show with a Q&A.  In case you were wondering, she's even more petite in person than she is on TV.  I really need to start watching ABC's Nashville because I hear it's amazing.  Moreover, she seemed like a nice girl with a cool personality.
What I enjoy about Belk is that it's unlike any other department store in Dallas.  Although they showcase a deep offering of preppy merchandise, Belk still manages to offer a product breadth that appeals to pretty much everyone.  Plus, I appreciate their frequent sales and promotions so you can get the most bang for your buck.

Nelli Tokleh, thank you for inviting me to this phenomenal event.  I had such a fun time, and so did my friend Stephanie Koh.  She recently started a blog called Dollie Gal, so check out her post about the Belk extravaganza!
Southern. Modern. Style.  Does it get more Dallas than that?
