Project Emilie: iHeart My iPad
Emilie loves her Apple products. Even for her age, she's better at electronics than I am. She recommended I get an iPad. Since the Mini just came out, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to see what Emilie loves about having an iPad. One of the best parts of having an iPad is that Em gets so excited that I have one just like her. So sweet!

FGI: A Night of Stars 2012
The Fashion Group International of Dallas has outdone itself. This year's A Night of Stars event was another success. The event was about recognizing rising stars in the Dallas Fashion Industry. Northpark's Victoria Snee hosted the evening and emceed the award and runway shows. The runway show was phenomenal, featuring Nha Khanh, Lela Rose, and Cassie Bumpous. The show was produced by the legendary Jan Strimple, of course. Off the runway, all the guests looked chic and stylish.
I ran into some old friends and made some new ones. Jan Strimple was working the runway backstage, and I finally got a picture with her! I was so excited! I also ran into Heidi Dillon, founder of The Fashionistas. Emilie's former personal trainer Marquette Falbo and SMU grad Grace Davis were at the event on business. During the runway show, I met Mary Ellen Dorey of Dorey AromaTherapy and Rosanne Hart of The Hart Agency. We had a fun time discussing the fashions on the runway and taking pics with our iPhones. Rising Star Angela Scott, who is a shoe designer, was so cool. Just a great way to top off a fabulous night!

Target + Neiman Marcus on Revenge
I know I'm not the only one that is excited for the Target and Neiman Marcus gift collaboration this Christmas. I already have some ideas for things I am going to get as gifts. After reading in WWD about ABC's Revenge featuring the new products, I couldn't wait to see the episode. Last night's episode of Revenge was amazing! The new collection was intertwined into a juicy story with each of the characters getting one of the pieces as a gift. This was the best product placement I have ever seen. Let me tell you, I will be at Target / Neiman Marcus on December 1 when the collection comes out.
Browse the collection at Target and Neiman Marcus.

Small 4 Style Meets Garance Dore
| With Garance Dore |
Ms. Dore is a true inspiration to those aspiring to work in the fashion industry. She started as a magazine illustrator and turned her passion into a blog in 2006. She recently did a collaboration with one of my favorite brands, Kate Spade. Her blog is so successful because she writes like she is talking to friends, as she describes. I got the chance to ask her if she could describe her style in two words (my favorite question). She said, "Not in two words, but in two sentences." Her style is a mix of tomboy style and feminine elegance.
Garance was so nice and funny, just like she is in her blog. We were so lucky to have Ms. Dore at SMU. I'm just glad my class ended in time to meet her!
