Ever feel like you're being judged by how many Twitter followers you have, Facebook friends you can collect, or Pinterest pinners you can attract? Today, we think our lives are so important that the world is interested in everything we do. Well, it turns out all of that Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti are kind of over the social media craze. In WWD they said, "Sometimes I see my friends do [tweet]. They tweet but it is so shameful." They go on to say, "I mean, who cares? Followers don't mean you are special, because Hitler had millions of followers and Jesus had just 12." From the 2 geniuses behind the Valentino empire, I think these points are valid. Always remember that social media doesn't define whether you are a quality source of influence or not.
I just had to put that out there. These quotes made me laugh. Go Valentino!
Your rainy day doesn't have to be a gloomy one, just another opportunity to look super chic. Rain boots are one of my must-haves for fall. I can't wait for it to rain!
On Monday December 5, anyone can be a fashion insider for the launch of The Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum.I think we can all say we’ve dreamed about Valentino’s exquisite Italian couture gowns. I know I have seen Valentino: The Last Emperor the documentary several times. Now you don’t need to fly to Italy to experience Valentino’s legacy, you just need to open your laptop! The 3-D virtual exhibition features fashion shows, photos, clothing, and interviews with Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti.Valentino wanted his archives to be displayed virtually for a wider audience, but he also wanted his fans to get the museum experience, so the pieces are organized into wings and rooms. There’s so much to take in, if this exhibit were displayed in a real museum it would take up 107,500 square feet!Watch this preview clip!
